Prove

Powstik Varsity

Take a research question from idea to write-up.

Every stage ends in work real people check: a proposal, a design, a dataset, a report.

What you'll prove

Undergraduate

How this works

  1. Pick a track, or an outcome for the stage you are at.
  2. Do the work and add proof. Each milestone is checked the way its work can be checked: by a machine, by people who saw it, or both.
  3. Move on to the next stage when you are ready. You can start at any stage.

Powstik doesn't publish papers or arrange publication. Journals and conferences decide what they accept.

Stage 1

Ask a question

Turn a curiosity into a question you can answer, and say how.

Stage 2

Read what is known

Find the work already done, and show what it says and what it leaves open.

Stage 3

Design the study (and its ethics)

Plan how you will find out, and who could be affected.

Stage 4

Collect the evidence

Run the experiment, the fieldwork or the interviews, and keep the record.

Stage 5

Analyse

Work through the data and show what it does and does not support.

Stage 6

Write it up

Report the work clearly enough that someone else could check it.

Stage 7

Publish and present

Send it for review and present it. Others decide whether it is accepted.

Powstik Varsity does not grant degrees.
