Powstik for Schools · IB DP

CAS that runs itself. And counts twice.

A CAS workspace for IB DP schools (Grades 11–12). Students log each Creativity, Activity and Service experience. Supervisors confirm it with one tap, no login. You see who is missing which strand or learning outcome in September, not May.

What changes

  • CoordinatorsReliefNo more chasing evidence. Gaps show up in September, while there is still time to fix them.
  • School leadersStatusA clear picture for the board: your school looks like the one that got ahead of the problem.
  • StudentsCounts twiceLess busywork. The same confirmed CAS work becomes their own portfolio for college applications.

How it works

  1. Step 1Start a workspaceTwo minutes. Two cohorts are ready: DP1 (Grade 11) and DP2 (Grade 12).
  2. Step 2InviteOne join link per cohort, one for supervisors, one for your principal.
  3. Step 3Students log, supervisors confirmEach experience is tagged with a strand and learning outcomes. The supervisor confirms it from a link.
  4. Step 4You see the gapsThe roster and gap view fill in by themselves. Export or share when you need to.

Four roles

  • CAS coordinatorRuns the workspace: roster, gaps, the sign-off queue, assignments, exports.
  • PrincipalA read-only summary: on-track share per strand, outcome coverage by cohort, League rank.
  • SupervisorSees only the experiences sent to them, and confirms each with one tap.
  • StudentSees only their own CAS. Logs experiences and asks a supervisor to confirm.

What you get

  • Supervisor sign-off in one tap (no login needed)A single-use link, good for 14 days, tied to one experience and one named adult.Live

  • Gap view: who is missing which strand or outcomeLive
  • Works alongside ManageBac and ToddleRoster CSV, a print-ready portfolio and a read-only share link you can switch off.Live
  • Upload a photo, video or voice note inside PowstikToday: students write what they did and paste a link to the photo, video or file.In pilot

Works alongside ManageBac and Toddle

Keep the system you have. Download the roster as a CSV, print a student's portfolio to PDF, or paste a read-only link into ManageBac or Toddle. You can switch a link off at any time, and every export is logged.

Extended Essay

Assign the path “Extended Essay: Proof of Process”: the agreed research question, three reflection sessions, the full draft and the final submission, each confirmed by the supervisor. A record of process. It does not replace the IB's own forms.

Privacy

Your school confirms it holds parental consent before the workspace opens. Students must be 13 or older. A student under 18 stays hidden from people outside the school. Staff from one school can never see another school. The Interschool Capability League names schools only, never a student, and only if you switch it on.

Questions

Do supervisors need an account?

No. They open a link, read the evidence and tap Confirm or Not yet. The link works once and for 14 days.

Do you count hours?

No. The page tracks experiences, strands and the seven learning outcomes, not hour totals.

Does this replace ManageBac or Toddle?

No. It sits beside them. Export the roster, print a portfolio, or paste a read-only link.

Who can see a student's work?

The student, your CAS coordinator, and the supervisor a piece was sent to. Staff from another school can never see it.

Does it cover the Extended Essay?

Yes, as a record of process: the agreed question, the three reflection sessions, the full draft and the final submission. It does not replace the IB's own forms.
