Official rules Version 6Rules updated Oct 7
1. Who runs this
Sponsor: Powstik Innovations Private Limited, Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.
Proof-of-Work is the contest on powstik.com/pow ("Powstik" means the sponsor). The current contest period is Proof-of-Work · October–November 2026. To reach us, use the contact form at powstik.com/contact.
No purchase is needed to enter or win. Buying anything does not improve your chances.
2. Who can enter
You must be 13 or older and have a Powstik account with your birth year set.
If you are 18 or older (by birth year), you are in the Open bracket. If you are 13 to 17, you are in the Teen bracket.
Powstik staff, and people who live with them, cannot win prizes.
The contest is void where the law does not allow it.
3. How to enter
Proof-of-Work runs every two months. A contest period is two calendar months, from the 1st of the first month at 00:00 UTC to the last day of the second month at 23:59:59 UTC. The contest periods are October–November, December–January, February–March, April–May, June–July and August–September. Each contest period is a separate contest with its own leaderboard and prizes.
Press Join on powstik.com/pow and accept these rules. The current contest period runs from October 1, 2026 to November 30, 2026 (UTC).
You enter once per contest period. Entering is free and never required to use Powstik.
4. How points work
You score 10 Proof Points for each of your proofs that a real person, other than you, first verifies during the contest period. It counts no matter when you logged the proof or when you joined.
A proof counts in the contest period in which a real person first verifies it.
Open bracket only: you also score 10 points for each proof first verified during the contest period that belongs to someone who joined Powstik through your link. Each person counts for the first person whose link they used, and that never changes.
You are qualified once you have at least one verified proof of your own.
Ties are broken first by likes on your contest proofs, then by who qualified first.
Sharing is rewarded but never required. Points only ever come from verified proofs.
5. Fair play
Every proof must be your own real work. Verifiers must be real people who saw the work.
Swapping verifications, fake accounts, or paying someone to verify you will remove you from the contest. Accounts under review for this are left off the boards until the review ends.
Powstik decides on fair play. A person, not an algorithm, makes that decision. If we disqualify you, we record the reason.
6. Prizes
Open bracket: first place wins a MacBook Air. Places 1 to 100 each win one year of Arena.
Teen bracket: places 1 to 100 each win one year of Arena. There is no hardware prize in the Teen bracket. People under 18 never receive hardware.
Hardware prizes (MacBook Air, MacBook Neo) are awarded for a contest period only if at least 100 entrants qualify in that contest period. If fewer qualify, that contest period's hardware rolls over to the next contest period. Arena awards to the top 100 in each bracket are given every contest period regardless.
If hardware rolls over, the extra MacBook Airs go to Open-bracket ranks 2, 3, … and the extra MacBook Neos go to school ranks 2, 3, …; the 100-entrant threshold counts qualified Open and Teen entrants together. Any extra device with no eligible rank is not awarded and does not roll over again.
Hardware is shipped to the winner's country. If a MacBook can't be delivered there, the winner gets a substitute of equal value.
Prizes cannot be swapped for cash.
Winners are shown by rank only after Powstik checks their proofs. Teen winners are never named in public.
7. School prize
A school is ranked when at least 3 different students at that school are qualified. Its score is its students' own verified proofs, 10 points each.
Ties are broken by the number of qualified students, then by which school reached that number first.
The top school wins a MacBook Neo, given to the school, not a student. The person who registered the school on Powstik must be 18 or older to receive it.
Schools appear on the board only as a school, country and total. No student is ever named.
8. Getting your prize
The year of Arena is added to your account automatically when results are final. There is nothing to claim.
Hardware winners see a notice on powstik.com/pow and on their home page. Send a shipping address through powstik.com/contact within 60 days of results being final. After 60 days, the prize lapses.
Winners are responsible for any taxes on their prize.
9. Your information
We use your account details only to run the contest and deliver prizes, as described in our privacy policy at powstik.com/privacy.
10. Changes
If these rules change, the version number goes up and the new version must be approved before it applies. You accepted the version shown with your entry.
These rules are governed by the laws of the place named in the sponsor address above.
7 Oct 2026: contest now runs every two months; the current round is extended to 30 Nov 2026.
