Elective. Read 20 books of any genre — picture books, chapter books, or non-fiction. A parent or teacher sign-off on each finished book is accepted proof.

Write Your First Story

Elective. Write a story with a beginning, middle, and end. Drawings welcome. A photo of the handwritten story counts as proof — no typed document required.

1. 1Plan the story: who is it about, what happens, how does it end?
2. 2Write and illustrate the finished story — photo or document submitted
3. 3Read your story aloud to someone outside your household — or publish it online

Master the Times Tables

Elective. Best suited to grades 3–5. Memorise tables 1–12 and pass a timed quiz (2 minutes, all 144 facts) confirmed by a parent or teacher.

1. 1Learn and recall tables 1 to 5
2. 2Learn tables 6 to 12 and practise mixed facts
3. 3Complete a timed all-tables quiz

Complete a Science Project

Elective. Run a hands-on experiment and share what you learned. A photo of the project plus a short explanation is enough — no formal write-up required.

2. 2Conduct the experiment and record observations
3. 3Share results and compare to the prediction

Create Your First Program with Scratch

Elective. Best suited to grades 3–5. Build an interactive project at scratch.mit.edu — a game, animation, or story. Share the public project URL as proof.

1. 1Complete 3 Scratch tutorials — share your favourite project URL
2. 2Build an original interactive project — share the public Scratch URL as proof
3. 3Share your project in the Scratch community — remix another creator's project

Present to Your Class

Elective. Give a short presentation or show-and-tell in front of a group. A teacher confirmation or short video clip is accepted proof.

Help in Your Community

Elective. Do something meaningful for others — collecting food, helping a neighbour, or volunteering at school. A parent or teacher note describing what was done counts as proof.
