Enter and complete a USTA bracket

1 tournament (1–2 days typically)

Register for a USTA or club tennis tournament and complete all scheduled matches, win or lose. Many players enter their first tournament and default on match two from nerves or scheduling conflicts. Completing the full bracket — earning a result in every match — is the prerequisite for the win.

Proof required

Submit: (1) tournament draw or bracket showing all your matches and results; (2) note on which round you reached.

What gets checked

  • Tournament is a real USTA-sanctioned or club event — not a friendly challenge
  • All scheduled matches are shown with results — no defaults or walkovers claimed as wins
  • Round reached is stated

Common mistakes

  • Entering a 3.5 open tournament when you are a 4.0 player to inflate results — proves nothing about real competition
  • Defaulting in the second match due to scheduling — does not count as a completed bracket

What a verifier looks for

  • Check tournament is USTA-sanctioned or a real club event
  • Verify all matches are played — no defaults

Reach a tournament semifinal

6–12 months of competitive play

Reach the semifinal round in at least two tournaments. Reaching a semifinal requires winning multiple matches against seeded opponents at your NTRP level. Analyse each match you win and lose in detail — what patterns led to the result.

Proof required

Submit: (1) bracket or draw from two tournaments showing semifinal or better finish; (2) brief analysis of one won match and one lost match noting tactical patterns.

What gets checked

  • Two tournaments show SF or better — not just one
  • Analysis covers at least two tactical patterns (what won points, what lost them) — not score-sheet only
  • Both tournaments are at your NTRP rating level

Common mistakes

  • Playing in soft sections of the draw (small local events with low participation) and reaching SF by walkover
  • Recording wins without analysing why — doesn't build the pattern recognition needed for the final

What a verifier looks for

  • Check two SF results from real events — not walkovers
  • Verify analysis is tactical — not just score summary

Win a USTA or club tournament

Tournament day(s)

Win a USTA-sanctioned or club tennis tournament at your official NTRP level. Your name appears on the official draw as the winner. Screenshot the draw showing your name in the winner's box or an official result document confirming the win.

Proof required

Submit: (1) official tournament draw or results document showing your name as the winner or finalist with wins shown in the bracket; (2) tournament name, level, and date.

What gets checked

  • Official draw shows your name in the winner's position — not a self-reported win
  • Tournament is at your current NTRP rating level — winning a weaker bracket does not count
  • Event is USTA-sanctioned or a recognised club tournament with real competition

Common mistakes

  • Winning an event where all opponents defaulted — walkovers to a trophy are not competitive wins
  • Entering a level below your NTRP to win more easily — verifiable from USTA profile

What a verifier looks for

  • Confirm tournament draw shows the winner's name in winner's position
  • Verify the event level matches the submitter's NTRP rating
  • Check for walkovers that inflated the win — competitive matches must be shown
