The 3.0 standard is defined by rally consistency, not power. A 3.0 player sustains baseline rallies at medium pace with directional control — forehands and backhands crosscourt for 8–10 consecutive shots without forced errors. Power is irrelevant at this level; placement and consistency are what separate 2.5 from 3.0 players.

Proof required

Submit a video showing two separate rally sequences: (1) at least 8 consecutive cross-court forehand groundstrokes with a hitting partner, both shots landing past the service line; (2) at least 8 consecutive cross-court backhand groundstrokes with the same standard. The video must show both players and the ball landing zones. Include the name of the hitting partner and the court location.

What gets checked

  • 8 consecutive shots per rally sequence without an unforced error — not counting shots that clip the net tape or land in the tram lines
  • All shots land beyond the service line in the target court — floating short-ball rallies do not meet the 3.0 directional standard
  • Both forehand and backhand sequences present in the submitted video — one-shot discipline is not sufficient
