Consistently pop up and ride whitewater (spent waves) on a softboard or longboard, completing at least 20 successful rides over four sessions. Surfing has a steep early learning curve where the popup technique, balance point, and paddle timing are interdependent skills; most beginners spend two or three sessions struggling before the popup pattern becomes reliable. Documenting 20 successful rides over four sessions separates a real beginner phase from a single-session introduction.
Proof required
Submit a session log of at least four surf sessions, each dated and showing location, conditions (wave height, whitewater vs. green waves), and a count of successful stand-ups per session. Total successful stand-ups across four sessions must reach 20. A photo or short video of at least one successful ride is required.
What gets checked
- Session log with at least 4 entries showing date, location, and stand-up count
- Total successful stand-ups across all logged sessions reaches 20
- At least one photo or video showing a standing ride — not just paddling
