Program a robot in a simulator
2–3 weeks (about 2 hrs/week)
Use a free simulator (Wokwi for a microcontroller, or Webots for a whole robot) to make a robot read one sensor and react: stop before a wall, follow a line, or turn towards light. No hardware or money needed.
Proof required
Add a link to your simulator project and a short note: what the robot senses, what it does, and one thing you changed to make it work better.
What gets checked
- The robot reacts to its sensor.
- You changed something and it got better.
- The note explains it in your own words.
Common mistakes
- Copying a finished example without changing it.
Powstik Guide
A simulated robot that senses and reacts, with a short note.
Steps
- Pick Wokwi or Webots.
- Start from an empty project.
- Add one sensor and one motor.
- Make it react, then make it better.
- Write the note.
Template
Note What it senses: What it does: What I changed:
What gets sent back
- A finished example with nothing changed.

What a verifier looks for
- Does the robot react to its sensor?
- Can the student explain what they changed?

Show it to your teacher
1 week
Show your robot working to a teacher, club leader or supervisor, in person or in class. If you have a real kit, use it; if not, the simulator counts.
Proof required
Name the adult who watched and write what happened.
What gets checked
- An adult saw it working.
- You explained how it works.
- You answered one question about it.
Common mistakes
- Nobody saw it work.
Powstik Guide
A short demo to a teacher or supervisor.
Steps
- Ask your teacher for five minutes.
- Show it working.
- Explain how it works.
Template
Demo Who watched: What happened:
What gets sent back
- No adult watched.
