Select a real or clearly defined speculative brand (a local business, a startup concept, or a non-profit) and write a formal brand brief covering: brand positioning (who for, against what alternatives, on what promise), target audience profile, competitive audit of three existing visual identities in the same space, and the emotional territory the new brand should occupy. Then generate three distinct concept directions — each must have a different visual hypothesis, not just colour variations on one idea.
Proof required
Brand brief document (400+ words) covering positioning, audience, competitive audit, and emotional territory, plus three concept directions each shown with at least a rough logo sketch, colour direction, and typeface choice.
What gets checked
- Brand brief covers all four elements: positioning, audience, competitive audit, emotional territory
- Three concept directions are genuinely distinct — different typeface categories, different visual metaphors
- Competitive audit includes real brands in the same category, not random references
