Hindi uses SOV (subject–object–verb) word order, the opposite of English. Postpositions come AFTER the noun they modify (in, on, to, from, for are all postpositions in Hindi). Possession uses का/की/के, which must agree in gender and number with the possessed noun, not the possessor. Learn 200+ core vocabulary items and their grammatical gender (all Hindi nouns are masculine or feminine). Practice present tense verb conjugation: the verb stem takes -ता/-ती/-ते depending on the subject's gender.
Proof required
Submit: (1) a handwritten or typed vocabulary list of 200+ words with grammatical gender marked (M/F) for each noun; (2) 10 original sentences demonstrating SOV word order, at least one postposition (में, पर, को, से), and one example of का/की/के possession.
What gets checked
- Gender is correctly marked for all nouns and the verb ending matches subject gender and number throughout all 10 sentences
- At least 3 distinct postpositions appear across the sentences, used correctly with oblique-case nouns
- Sentences vary in subject (I / you / he-she / we / they) showing conjugation across the present-tense paradigm
